About OBD2 Diagnostic Trouble Codes
OBD2 (On-Board Diagnostics II) is a standardized diagnostic system found in all vehicles manufactured after 1996. Fault codes (DTCs - Diagnostic Trouble Codes) can be read using an OBD2 scanner connected to the vehicle.
Codes are divided into four categories: P (Powertrain - engine/transmission), B (Body - body/airbag), C (Chassis - ABS/brakes) and U (Network - CAN bus communication). Each code consists of five characters.
⚠️ Important: Codes related to airbag (SRS), ABS and brake systems (B0xxx, C0xxx) involve safety-critical systems. Always have these systems repaired by a qualified technician or dealership.
